Tria and Dan is a documentary exploration of an interracial American couple's move to France after World War II, and the impact of race relations in the U.S. on their marriage. The filmmaker will investigate how Tria, an African-American writer from Alabama, and Dan French a white New York war veteran fell in love. The filmmaker will show their journey from New York and later overseas. As expats in France, the Frenchs were friends with the Postwar French and American artists. The film will examine the cross-cultural treatment of blacks in France and the U.S. from the 1950s and beyond.
